TESTAMENT's Chuck Billy Talks To BraveWords About New Album - "Hopefully It Will Be Out First Quarter Of Next Year"

BraveWords caught up legendary Testament singer Chuck Billy at this year’s Heavy Montréal, which was held from August 7th through 9th at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Fans of the Bay Area thrash titans witnessed a very unique set from the band, as their lineup featured Tilen Hudrap from Vicious Rumors on bass and Alex Bent from Battlecross on drums. Regular Testament bassist Steve Di Giorgio and drummer Gene Hoglan did not join vocalist Chuck Billy, and guitarists Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson on stage because they are both on tour in The UK and Europe with Death DTA.

Chuck talks about the temporary line-up change, the band’s follow-up to 2012’s Dark Roots Of The Earth and the supergroup side project Metal Allegiance.

“We just finished a good three months of touring and we jumped back in working on the new record,” he says. “We are hard at work at that right now, hopefully it will be out first quarter of next year. So that’s what were in, we are knee-deep in writing now. And there’s a lot there but as we keep writing, they all seem to keep merging. I mean I’ve wrote lyrics for every riff under the sun that he wrote, so we are just kind of meshing it together. Every song you’re write isn’t the right one you know, the keeper. Right now were just jamming, but we’re finding some great stuff.”
