It certainly felt as if hell was rolling through on February 29th in Charlotte. We've been having some very cold weather then suddenly Slayer shows up and it's a hot day...they leave...back to cold. The godfathers of thrash brought along an impressive line up that brought all metal fan, young and old, out to get a lesson in Metal 101 with Carcass & Testament leading the class. Tom, Kerry, Paul & Gary blasted through tunes that spanned throughout the bands entire career. I must add too that having Gary Holt in the band seems like the perfect addition to the band following the tragic passing of Mr. Hanneman. The man is a god amongst the thrash world and what better stage to have him on that a stage shared with Slayer? Be sure to catch this show when it comes near you and the new album Repentless, you will not be disappointed.
