The annual Dinkelsbühl confab, also known as Summer Breeze (the biggest metal festival in southern Germany), kicked off with a Nuclear Blast night. While those performing were not exclusively part of the label's roster, Nukie bands were spotlighted with the best time slots, on the day's biggest stage. Wednesday is something of a bonus, for those that buy the full three-day ticket (only a portion of the festival grounds/vendors are open). Unlike the other days, it is not possible to purchase a ticket to just see today's line-up. Death Angel were blistering, as usual. Good to reconnect with old friends in Soilwork and Hypocrisy, live and backstage. On the smaller stage, also caught the antics of Cleveland's hooded & ravenous rock n rollers (as in somersaulting across the stage) Midnight, and speed metal insanity of Evil Invaders (my personal pick for band of the day)! Here's a small glimpse of the happenings. A full report on Summer Breeze will be posted on BraveWords, shortly.
