ARCH ENEMY Vocalist ANGELA GOSSOW - "I Remember The ‘First-Timers’ Very Well..."
January 28, 2009, 15 years ago
ARCH ENEMY vocalist Angela Gossow is featured in a new interview with Phride.com. An excerpt appears below.
Q: What do you enjoy more – recording in the studio or performing live? Why?
Angela: "I prefer performing live. I have never achieved to get the same intensity into my studio vocals. I thrive on the adrenalin you get from performing. I love it loud and extreme! Studio is too tame for me."
Q: What has been you most memorable live performance so far?
Angela: "I remember the ‘first-timers’ very well. My first show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. I was so nervous and the audience was so great! My first show in Japan. I couldn’t believe it. So many people. And so many singing along every note. My first show in China, Beijing. There were lots of armed guards and big fences everywhere. But in the end the audience broke down all these barriers and rushed to the stage and the guards didn’t know what to do. They just stood there and watched. It felt like revolution."
