JUDAS PRIEST Guitarist K.K. Downing’s Steel Mill Issues Interview With ROY Z

K.K. Downing's Steel Mill has posted an exclusive interview with guitarist/producer/songwriter ROY Z, who co-produced 2005's Angel Of Retribution, JUDAS PRIEST's first album in a decade and a half with ROB HALFORD on vocals.
Among other things, Roy talks about the mystery behind his last name, coming up through ranks in Los Angeles during the late 1980's, his first meeting with IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON, which led to a long-time creative partnership that has produced metal classics such as Accidient Of Birth and The Chemical Wedding, working with Judas Priest, HELLOWEEN, SEBASTIAN BACH and AXL ROSE, as well as his own band, TRIBE OF GYPSIES.

In related news, Roy Z's resurrected L.A.metal outfit DRIVER, are scheduled to play a warmup show with WARRIOR and LEATHERWOLF on Friday, June 19th at the Galaxy Theatre, 3503 S. Harbor Blvd., Santa Ana, CA before the band takes off for an exclusive European festival appearance at this year's Bang Your Head!!! in Balingen, Germany on Saturday, June 27th.
The band's live lineup is set to include Z, vocalist Rob Rock (IMPELLITTERI), drummer Reynold 'Butch' Carlson (ex-JAG PANZER, TERRIFF), bassist Aaron Samson (ODIN), and keyboard player Ed Roth (GLENN HUGHES, RONNIE MONTROSE)
Driver's Sons of Thunder CD was released last fall via Metal Heaven in Europe and King Records in Japan.
