BraveWords.com hung out with legendary MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell on the band’s recent jaunt through Toronto. Supporting the hot-blooded Motörizer, the band just played their biggest headline gig ever in Toronto, to an estimated 3,000 sweaty, black-clad drunkards. More from our chat later, but here’s a quick bit of news from Phil concerning HEAVEN & HELL’s Ronnie James Dio…
“He just talked a guy down from suicide! Steve, Ronnie’s assistant told me… Ronnie finished touring on a Sunday, and he says he gets to the airport, and there’s a phone call message on this thing, from Wendy, ‘Call me, call me - I’m at the police station,’ whatever. And there’s a guy, threatened to commit suicide, climbed up on something. And so they whisked Ronnie through on a police escort and everything, and the guy’s saying, ‘The Man On The Silver Mountain told me to jump.’ And Ronnie had to talk this guy down, and he talked him down.”And Ronnie doesn’t know who this guy was?
“No, just finished touring, performance, just ridden to the airport to go home. I love Ronnie - one of my favourite people on this planet.”
