Producers of the documentary, SAXON: Heavy Metal Thunder have issued the following update:

"Yesterday we finished the first cut of the film. It’s looking even better than I first envisaged when I first spoke to Biff (Byford) about it in 2008. We’ve secured some stunning archive footage of the band on tour in 1979 when they supported MOTÖRHEAD, along with footage of them in the studio for the Crusader and Innocence Is No Excuse albums.

We’ve also finished two other shorter films – one on the making of Into the Labyrinth, and a really entertaining piece with the band backstage on their most recent tour with Motörhead. And there’s more in the pipeline...

You can see some snippets of the archive footage below.

We’re also looking for some more help from you. We’re looking for anyone who has photos of the band when they were SON OF A BITCH (if you have footage, it goes without saying!), photos from Donnington 1980 and photos of Download 2008. It’s important to note that you must own the photos (if you took the photo yourself, you probably own it).

If anyone can help, please email me (Craig) or Zara at SaxonHMTMovie@rocketmail.com."
