Bruce Fessier from Mydesert.com is reporting:

AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler seemed to be celebrating something when he walked his way into the Tilted Kilt pub in Palm Desert Tuesday night.

A Tilted Kilt DJ said he was accompanied by a management team, including a publicist who said the one-time Boston bad boy wasn’t going to sing and no photos would be allowed.

But Mike May, who goes by the name DJ Kermie, took photos (check one out here) of the singer with his cell phone and Tyler sang his 1998 No. 1 hit, 'I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing'.

May said Tyler came into the Tilted Kilt during a karaoke competition. He applauded the performers, May said, and was “very gracious and very kind.”

Then two amateur singers told Tyler they were going to perform a version of 'I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing' that was going to “totally suck.” Tyler apparently gave them his blessing, but when their prediction proved prophetic, the crowd started booing them off the stage, May said.

The DJ began singing along to try to save his show, he said, when “all of a sudden, near the end of the song, (Tyler) grabbed the mic and started singing. The whole frickin’ bar surrounded him and he just started singing the whole thing.”

May announced Tyler to the stunned crowd and said, “Karaoke will never get better then that.”
