ETERNAL LEGACY - New Album Title Revealed
January 26, 2010, 14 years ago
Cleveland, Ohio-based metallers ETERNAL LEGACY have set Seeking No Peace as the title of their new album, due later in the year via Auburn Records. Guitarist/Vocalist Jason Vanek will once again handle the production duties at the band's own Mercinary Studios in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, the band's second and current album, Lifeless Alive, will be released for worldwide distribution via Auburn Records in February. The album had been released on a limited basis locally last November.
"This next album is coming together very quickly”, says guitarist Shaun Vanek. “Right after we mixed and mastered Lifeless Alive, we started writing another one. We have five songs ready and two more in the works. Tim (Frederick) was added to the band after ‘Lifeless Alive’ had been finished. His energy and talent inspired us to kick out some more new music. The energy within the band and this next album is over-the-top. Eternal Legacy is in domination mode. We are working non-stop to bring the heavy metal we love to all of our friends. We do not want to be a band that releases a new album every three or four years. We’d like to keep the new music coming out at a steady pace like bands used to do back in the '70s. Due to events and changes EL has been through in the past couple of months, we decided to call this album Seeking No Peace. It will be more of the heavier, traditional metal sound we have returned to writing as Jason (Vanek) and I were doing in our early MERCINARY band days. Our goal is to have the new album released in time for our trip to Wacken.”Eternal Legacy is the youngest band on the Auburn Records roster. Their first release, The Coming Of The Tempest, was released in 2007.
“This band is a lot of fun for me to work with”, says Auburn Records president Bill Peters. “They have an incredible amount of youthful energy and hard work ethic to get things done. I love developing new bands. It is something I had missed doing in recent years with the label."Eternal Legacy is confirmed for this year's edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 5-7, 2010 in Wacken, Germany.
“Having the opportunity to participate in the world's biggest heavy metal festival is an honor and a gift", says Jason Vanek. "The kind of energy that comes from the fans is what drives and inspires me to write and play music. This is what I live for. I'm fired up and ready to kick some serious ass!”
"I live to play these kinds of festivals”, adds younger brother Shaun. “More people, means more energy. I'm hungry and feed off this kind of energy."
This will be the band's second trip overseas. They performed in 2007 at the Headbangers Open Air festival in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany.
"Germany has the best heavy metal festivals in the world", says Peters. "Every metal fan should make the pilgrimage to Germany at least once in their lifetime. Each festival has its own identity and character. Wacken is the world's biggest and a very well-organized, first class event. I have taken my bands DESTRUCTOR and BREAKER to play Wacken in years past and always had a great time. Bang Your Head!!!, Headbangers Open Air, Keep It True and Rock Hard are four other excellent festivals I can personally highly recommend. The festivals and the fans are a big part of what makes Germany the heavy metal capital of the world!”
Eternal Legacy, along with label mates LICK THE BLADE, were nominated for the "Best Metal Band" award in Cleveland Scene Magazine's annual Cleveland Music Awards 2010.
