hot flashes news the famine

Texas-based metallers THE FAMINE have issued the following update:

"The Famine lost all of their gear in a fire that also gutted their studio in Arlington, Texas early today. All of the sessions that they had been working on in preparation for their new release have been lost.

In lieu of donations and well wishes, the band asks that you take a marker to your friends face and write “fire” on it, and then punch him in the face repeatedly. Do this, or the terrorists win.”

Last month the band reported, "We are happy to announce the addition of Jon Richardson, AKA Jonny Christmas (SABOTEUR, THE MONARCH), will be handling bass duties for The Famine. As a long time friend and supporter of all things related to the band, we couldnt be happier to have him brought into the fold."

The Famine recently announced that they had parted ways with vocalist Chris McCaddo.

A band statement reads as follows: "The tyranny of distance is at times an insurmountable obstacle to behold. We love Chris as a brother and respectfully wish him the best in all of his future endeavors. In addition, The Famine is very excited to announce that Nick Nowell will lead us down this dark and dusty road as our new singer, and we couldn't be any more excited to welcome his range and abilities into The Famine in such an important capacity and at such an important time in our journey of pillage and conquest. In other news, we are hard at work in our metal bunker, doing our best to write a sophomore record the likes of which have never been heard by any ears, mortal or otherwise. Stay tuned for more big Famine news very soon, and may the metal be with you."
