KINETIC Bassist On Female Vocalist / Professional Model Maria-Melissa Routi - "She Gives Us Some Added Exposure, But We Never Went Looking For That"

Savvas Betinis, bassist / vocalist for Greek progressive death metal act KINETIC is featured in a new interview with BW&BK; scribe Carl Begai. An excerpt is available below.
"For her it isn’t that strange, it’s just a reality," Betinis says of female singer Maria-Melissa Routi, who also hold down a job as a professional model. “The strange thing is when Maria-Melissa mentions to other celebrities or people in that circle that she is not only a photo model but sings in death metal with a growling vocalist. You just see their faces go '…oh…' (laughs). Having Maria-Melissa in Kinetic is good for the band, of course, because it gives us some added exposure, but we never went looking for that. As previously reported, on December 6th, 2008 Kinetic issued a six song EP entitled 6.6.6.6. as a free download for fans and newcomes alike as a celebration of "6 Years, 6 Souls, 6 Songs." The download is still available for anyone who wants it here.
Kinetic was originally formed in 2002 as a quartet and has since released two full length studio albums, The Chains That Bind Us (2005, Sleaszy Rider Records) and Corrosion (2007, Burning Star Records). Now a sextet, they are currently unsigned but working on a new album, due to be released later this year.
