Mydesert.com is reporting:
Two Riverside County men settled their negligence and liability lawsuit in which they contended that poor security was to blame for injuries they suffered at the 2007 Ozzfest concert in Devore.
Michael McClelland and Stephen Holloway filed their lawsuit in January 2008 in Los Angeles Superior Court against Contemporary Services Corp. of Northridge, which provided security at the July 21, 2007, event. Also named as defendants were Live Nation Worldwide Inc., which promoted the concert, and Pavilion Partners Ltd., owners of Glen Helen Pavilion.
A court filing lodged April 15 with Judge Michael L. Stern regarding the settlement did not divulge the terms. The attorneys could not be immediately reached for comment.
Ozzfest, which features performances by heavy metal and hard rock bands, was founded by Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon, who organized the annual tours with their son Jack.
McClelland and Holloway maintained the security guards hired to work at the concert were "too young and under-trained to act as security guards at a heavy metal concert."
Holloway says he entered the Glen Helen Pavilion about 1 p.m. A few hours later, according to the suit, he was attacked by a young man with a shaved head and tattoos who was soon joined by other assailants, who grabbed Holloway's hair from behind and kicked him in the face, breaking his jaw in several places.
