Richard Christy recently checked in with the following update:

"Well, there’s a lot of things happening with Charred Walls Of The Damned and various other goings-ons so I’ll get right to it!

First off, I was so psyched to open this week’s Time Out New York magazine and see that the Charred Walls Of The Damned show on July 8th at the Gramercy Theater is one of their picks for summer concerts to see in New York! Here’s a link to the article.

Tickets are available now for all Charred Walls Of The Damned shows this July and you can purchase tickets by clicking each city here on the Calendar on the front page of the site.

I’m really excited to announce that Charred Walls Of The Damned’s version of the POWERMAD classic 'Nice Dreams', which was previously only available as a Japanese bonus track is now available on iTunes! I've been a huge Powermad fan since I first heard the classic album Absolute Power back in 1989. The song 'Nice Dreams' has always been one of my favorite metal songs and I thought it was the perfect cover song for this band, a great way to showcase what an amazing lead guitar player Jason Suecof is, and a great way to pay tribute to one of my favorite underground metal bands. Hopefully some fans who aren't familiar with Powermad will hear this song and discover this great thrash metal band, and hopefully Powermad fans will enjoy hearing our take on the classic song 'Nice Dreams'. We will be playing it live on tour too! Here’s a link to the 'Nice Dreams' single on iTunes.

I recently did a really fun interview with Michael Melchor of the Orlando Rock Music Examiner, you can check it out in 2 parts here: Part 1, Part 2.

I want to give a HUGE thank you to the guys in COHEED AND CAMBRIA and all their crew for such an amazing time in Philadelphia at their two shows at the Electric Factory recently. I introduced the band on the Saturday night show which you can see here:

Coheed also played my favorite song ever 'The Crowing' at the Saturday night Philly show and dedicated it to me!!! I totally freaked! I don’t think I’ve ever banged my head that hard, my neck is still killing me! When they went into the ending climax part of the song I literally think my whole body went into spasms, I really went insane! If you want to hear how incredible this song sounds when Coheed plays it live you can go here.

I also saw Coheed And Cambria in Central Park in New York City this past Wednesday which was also amazing and I took a picture that I think turned out really cool, it looks like something right out of an alien movie!

I also wanna thank my buddy Jimmy Duff at the most awesome heavy metal bar on the planet Duff’s Brooklyn for putting the Charred Walls Of The Damned and Death logos on their new poster! The poster is totally awesome and whenever you’re in New York City you have to visit Duff’s! They have the heaviest jukebox ever and a great, headbanging crowd of really cool people!

It’s been a very sad time lately in the world of metal with the loss of several great metal icons. I posted some thoughts on my Facebook page and I thought I would also share them here.

My heart goes out to the guys in SLIPKNOT and Paul Gray’s family. What a sad day. I’ve known Paul and many of the Slipknot guys since 1993 when all of our old bands used to do death metal shows together in Des Moines. For the past 11 years it has made me so proud to see what a massive force in music they’ve become. I’m so proud of what Paul's accomplished and I’ll never forget what a great guy he was. RIP Paul Gray.

RIP RONNIE JAMES DIO, the Voice of Heavy Metal and one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Your music will live on forever. Crank up some Holy Diver to celebrate a true metal legend!"
