On July 4th, the MISFITS' Jerry Only performed the American national anthem to a record breaking crowd in Seattle at the Key Arena. Only comments:

"The Misfits have for a third of a century toured the world representing the United States of America. It was always a dream, and now my honor, to perform this song. I'd like to wish all the Fiends a safe and Happy 4th Of July holiday".

"At the league's season championship bout, Seattle's Rat City Rollergirls set a new modern roller derby attendance record, maxing out the lower bowl of KeyArena with 6885 tickets sold and over 6000 people in attendance. While classic roller derby routinely filled arenas, notably including Madison Square Garden, through its heyday in the 1950s and '60s, audiences of this size are a very new development since the sport's reinvention in Austin, TX early in the decade, and more recently fueled in part by the film 'Whip It'. Misfits founding member Jerry Only was proud to be on hand to kick off the event by singing the national anthem for the packed house.
