BW&BK; has received the following press release:
Esoterik Guitars will unveil the new DR-1 Dave Reffett signature model guitar at this year’s 2011 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. The DR-1 is meticulously handcrafted by master guitar maker Ryan Cook. The DR-1 was inspired by the high-speed elegance and precise style of guitar demon Dave Reffett.
Dave Reffett is the mastermind behind SHREDDING THE ENVELOPE. His album The Call Of The Flames features guest performances from guitar legends George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN), Michael Angelo Batio (ex-NITRO), Chris Poland (ex-MEGADETH, OHM), Glen Drover (ex-MEGADETH, ex-KING DIAMOND), Joe Stump (HOLY HELLl) and drummer Mike Mangini (STEVE VAI, ANNIHILATOR, EXTREME).
Scoring a near perfect 9.5 out of 10 from Europe’s Hard Rocker Magazine, The Call Of The Flames made international headlines and was hailed on the BBC by Bruce Dickinson, the legendary frontman of IRON MAIDEN as "a must have album."
Reffett is a regular presence in Guitar World Magazine as well as Gitar Plus Magazine in Indonesia. He filmed a number of licks for Guitar World’s highly publicized iPhone app Lick Of The Day” with the DR 1, where he is featured alongside world renowned guitarists like Joe Satriani (CHICKENFOOT), Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY), Michael Angelo Batio and many more.
Esoterik Guitars is based in San Luis Obispo, CA and specializes in making high end handcrafted instruments for guitarists of all styles. Master guitar maker Ryan Cook; having worked for Ernie Ball and National Guitars has an innate talent for making highly reliable professional model guitars that deliver the pinnacle of sustain and tone.
Dave Reffett had this to say about the DR1:
"Ryan Cook and and the guys over at Esoterik have made a truly magnificent guitar and I am so proud to have my name on it. I have played many guitars over the years and what can I say; I must have an instrument that has power, sustain, incredible tone and durability. The DR 1 gives me that and so much more. Like any guitar player it drives me nuts when a guitar I'm playing can’t take what I dish out and goes out of tune after a song or two. I can wail on my DR-1 for hours and it doesn't even flinch. This baby performs like a Lamborghini but is built like a tank. Also I have to say that I love that it is handmade right here in America by guitar players for guitar players.”
The DR-1 Dave Reffett Signature Model Guitar sells for $2,499.00 and offers the following specifications:
