Bassist Jim Sheppard from Seattle metallers NEVERMORE will undergo surgery today (Wednesday, February 16th) to remove a benign brain tumor. Vocalist Warrel Dane posted on Twitter earlier: "Please, all metalhead brothers and sisters, send your positive energy for our brother."

During the creation of Nevermore's largest album, The Obsidian Conspiracy, BraveWords.com caught up with Sheppard at the Wacken Open Air. "In the last few years Nevermore experienced some down time due to my health (Sheppard underwent a procedure for Crohn's disease which he has suffered from for over 15 years) and I think it had a lot of impact on some of the song-writing. I feel like an outsider coming back into Nevermore after what I've been through, the health issues and stuff."
