ARTISTdirect.com's Rick Florino has issued an interview with MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee, in which he discusses Mötley Crüe and POISON's summer tour, DJ-ing, some recent favorite flicks, and more. The following is an excerpt:

Q: How did the idea for the Mötley Crüe and Poison tour come together?

A: "For awhile, it's something that the fans have been asking for. When promoters and enough people start asking you to do something, you're like, 'Ah, okay, cool! Let's go do it!'" [Laughs]

Q: So was the tour created by that demand?

A: "Pretty much! That's definitely how the ball started getting rolling. Then, we started kicking around some band names. The NEW YORK DOLLS came up first, and it was like, 'Yeah, that sounds awesome!' That's how it all started."

Poison And Mötley Crüe are teaming up for the first time in their history on a North American co-headlining tour with special guests the New York Dolls. Although several controversial statements have been made in the press by certain members of Mötley Crüe vowing this tour would never happen, that is simply not the case. Fans of both bands have spoken and want the tour to happen and both Mötley Crüe and Poison have agreed. Concert promoters in these select cities state that the buzz is unbelievable for both the Poison dates as well as the Mötley Crüe / Poison tour. No doubt this will be the rock tour of the summer. Both Poison and Mötley Crüe have a long history of hit songs, bigger than life stage shows, no holds barred live energy not to mention the two bands combined have sold over 100 million records and have over 24 top 40 hits between them.
