Brian Mansfield of USA Today reports that WWE wrestler and FOZZY vocalist CHRIS JERICHO is responsible for BLACK LABEL SOCIETY frontman ZAKK WYLDE appearing on American Idol last night, April 13th. Zakk performed with contestant James Durbin covering the SAMMY HAGAR classic 'Heavy Metal'.
"Father Jericho called me up," says the Black Label Society founder. "He's on Dancing With the Stars, so we've been busting his balls about that." According to Wylde, James asked Jericho to make the call on his behalf."It was that easy," Wylde says. "I was, like, yeah, no problem. Then the American Idol people gave me the song to learn. Sammy Hagar, no problem. I bought it from iTunes: off and running."What's Wylde's professional assessment of James as a metal singer? "I think he did a great job. We all know Sammy Hagar's got a killer voice. He sang his balls off last night, man."
