DIAMOND HEAD To Headline Turkey's Masters Of Sound Festival

NWOBHM stalwarts DIAMOND HEAD have confirmed they will headline the Masters Of Sound Festival. The Festival takes place on September 17th at the 7 Towers Dungeon in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Festival takes place over the weekend with other acts such as PRETTY MAIDS, KINGDOM COME and WHIPLASH.
As previously reported, Diamond Head and GIRLSCHOOL, as well as original JUDAS PRIEST vocalist AL ATKINS (HOLY RAGE) were scheduling a North American tour for late summer with dates in New York, Detroit, Saint Paul and Seattle confirmed for late August/early September.
Girlschool have now been forced to pull out of the tour.
A statement from management reads as follows:
"The main reason for that is the fact that the main sponsor wanted to wait for the album to be released in the US before the band went over to tour.This was for the company extremely important and also for us the only possible way to bring the band to the US and join Diamond head on their tour.
For that reason, the financial situation has become absolutely impossible to work with forcing us to cancel the entire tour. As soon as we have a definite release date for Hit And Run revisited in the US we will be back!"
