Boston-based rock band SWITCHBLADE SUICIDE has been asked by legendary rock band QUEENSRŸCHE to be the opening act for their 30th Anniversary Tour when it comes to House Of Blues on Lansdowne Street in Boston, MA on Wednesday, October 26th at 7 PM.

Switchblade Suicide's sound is colorfully described as the bastard child of hard rock and heavy metal, devouring the riffs of the ‘70s (KISS, AEROSMITH), the driving dominance of the ‘80s (AC/DC, GUNS N' ROSES), and the remorseless angst of the ‘90s (ALICE IN CHAINS). Blend it all together and "The Blade," as their fans have dubbed them, personifies the next incarnation of raw, ruthless rock ‘n’ roll, refusing to replicate.

With a sound and vibe that is uncompromising, unapologetic, and unbridled, Boston-based Switchblade Suicide will infectiously inject you with a lethal dose of original rock ‘n' roll... just what the doctor ordered for the revival of rock music.

In 2010, Switchblade Suicide was #1 in the voting out of 150 local bands that entered the KISS/Guitar Center Opening Act Competition (Boston Area). After the public voting period ended for the Boston area on June 23rd, KISS reviewed the submissions of the top 5 bands. In addition to receiving the most votes, Switchblade Suicide was selected based on their excellent musicianship, solid commercial viability and marketability, and a genre of music that KISS embodies.

In addition to opening for Queensrÿche and KISS, “The Blade” has opened for CHEAP TRICK and SQUEEZE, DIZZY REED (Guns ‘N Roses), and members of QUIET RIOT, WARRANT and WHITE LION. Switchblade Suicide has also had notable performances in cities such as Pittsburgh, New York City, Hartford, Manchester, Providence, and Boston, with airplay on WBCN and live appearances on WAAF.

Along with their self-titled debut EP and 2010 follow up release, Japanese Release, Switchblade Suicide recently released their newest single, 'Love & Suicide', available now on iTunes & CD Baby.
