PAUL RODGERS Receives ASCAP Songwriting Award

The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers presented the 2010 Songwriting Award in recognition of the hit song 'Bad Company' to BAD COMPANY singer PAUL RODGERS.

The song hit #1 on the charts this past year when FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recorded and released their version.

When Rodgers wrote the song he was the first to write a self titled song, where a band's name was also the title of a song. Other acts to follow Rodgers concept BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN and MOTÖRHEAD. The award was given out in London recently and was accepted by Rodger's son, musician Steve Rodgers. Paul was unable to accept the award as he was in New York where he was performing two nights at the Beacon Theatre as JOE BONAMASSA's special guest.
