Updated: SIX FEET UNDER - Bassist Departs Band

Matt DeVries (ex-CHIMAIRA), who came on board as SIX FEET UNDER’s touring bassist in 2011, has decided to depart the brutality laden death metal act to pursue other musical endeavors. Details on who will be stepping in as the permanent bassist will be announced in the coming months.
Vocalist Chris Barnes provided the following statement exclusively to BraveWords.com: "We had a great time touring with Matt and are thankful for all his help over the past year and wish him the best. He's a great dude!"
In other news, Barnes recently Tweeted:
"Typing all my lyrics and credits 4 new cd. This has to be some of the most disturbing lyrics I've written in years be afraid be very afraid!"SFU will release their new, currently untitled album later this year via Metal Blade.
