Brazilian metal band SHADOWSIDE were scheduled to perform at Metal Open Air, the biggest heavy metal festival ever organized in Brazil, but have chosen to drop off the bill. The three day event takes place in São Luís, Brazil, from April 20th to 22nd. The lineup consists of bands such as: ANTHRAX, BLIND GUARDIAN, MEGADETH, SYMPHONY X, and VENOM.

According to a statement issued by Shadowside's manager Flavio Garrido, "It is logistically impossible they arrive in time at the event to present themselves at the time that we were only confirmed two days ago. We sincerely apologize to all fans who had expected the band at the event."

There are plans to have Shadowside on the bill for Metal Open Air 2013.

Inner Wound Recordings recently announced the signing of Shadowside to the label. Their up-coming album Inner Monster Out, will be released on May 11th in Europe and on May 22nd in North America.

Shadowside vocalis Dani Nolden comments on the signing: "We are very excited about the worldwide release of Inner Monster Out and extremely proud to work with Inner Wound Recordings! As if by fate, even the label name and our album title fit. A hardworking, artist-friendly company and it's safe to say it's the best place Shadowside has ever been! Inner Monster Out was produced, mixed, and mastered at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden by Fredrik Nordström (ARCH ENEMY, AT THE GATES, BRING ME THE HORIZON, IN FLAMES), and features guest vocals from the likes of Björn "Speed" Strid (SOILWORK), Mikael Stanne (DARK TRANQUILLITY), and Niklas Isfeldt (DREAM EVIL).
