As previously reported, METALLICA's Robert Trujillo is financing a biopic on late jazz bassist JACO PASTORIUS. The film is being directed by Stephen Kijak and will feature a number of guest appearances including RUSH's Geddy Lee, THE POLICE's Sting, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' Flea, PAT METHENY, AL DI MEOLA, BOOTSY COLLINS, JONI MITCHELL and more according to the film's Facebook page.

Trujillo told USA Today's Marco R. della Cava that "Jaco was my hero growing up. Hearing him was like hearing Eddie Van Halen doing 'Eruption' for the first time: You thought, 'What instrument is that?'"

"I loved jazz fusion and branched out from there," he says. "But Jaco had an edge that far exceeded his jazz persona. He was funk, he was rock, he was soul. And his whole attitude was punk."
