Singer/guitarist Charly Steinhauer of German metallers PARADOX underwent "difficult heart surgery" on Thursday, December 27th.

An update from Charly's Paradox bandmates states: "We've been in the hospital to visit Charly and he's getting better. He want's to thank you all for the good wishes and the love and support you showed him in the last few days! That really does mean a lot to him.

We shall tell you: Paradox will never die! As long as it's possible for him he will write new stuff and if possible we will return on stage!

All planed shows for the next half year had been cancelled but if Charly's health condition allows it, we want to be back on stage in August at Queens Of Metal Open Air!"

Stay tuned for updates.

Paradox released their new album, Tales Of The Weird, on December 14th via AFM Records. A lyric video for the album track, 'Brutalized', can be seen below:

Tales Of The Weird was produced by Charly Steinhauer, mixed and mastered by V. Santura at Woodshed-Studio, Landshut, Germany. The album also includes guest appearances by Bob Katsionis (FIREWIND) and Gus Drax (SUNBURST).

New guitarist Christian Muenzner (OBSCURA) recently commented: "I already applied for Paradox ten years ago, even before I was in the band NECROPHAGIST. Logisitically this is even the closest band to where I live, we're not even 45 minutes apart, so this makes a lot of sense ;) Been a fan of that band for years and always wanted to play thrash, so here we go ;) The new songs sound fucking amazing, I'm stoked to be a part of this!"
