Fort Worth-based duo PINKISH BLACK has finished recording their upcoming album and Century Media debut, set tentatively for a spring release.

Self-produced by Pinkish Black’s own Jon Teague and Daron Beck, this currently untitled full-length was recorded at The Echo Lab with Matt Barnhart handling engineer duties. Mastering will be done by James Plotkin.

Pinkish Black is the continuation of THE GREAT TYRANT, a three-piece that released one LP following the passing of their bass player, Tommy Atkins. When Atkins died, Teague and Beck decided to change the band’s name and remain a two-piece, yet still retain TGT’s ground-breaking sound. With no stringed instruments, the duo now relies on aura and raw emotions to obtain their unique heaviness. Their resulting effort, Pinkish Black’s self-titled debut (Handmade Birds Records), features seven tracks of dark, haunting deathrock.
