April 25, 2013, 11 years ago
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY mainman Zakk Wylde (ex-OZZY OSBOURNE) has just confirmed his first convention appearance at Spooky Empire's May-Hem! on Friday, May 24th and Saturday May 25th at the Rosen Center in Orlando, Florida. Wylde will be promoting and signing copies of his new paperback book, Bringing Metal To The Children, as well as an array of Zakk-related merchandise in a massive two-day meet n' greet.
Beginning with Wylde's True Rocker Test, Bringing Metal To The Children goes on to tell stories of wild nights on the road with some of the biggest names in metal like Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Slash and "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, coaches metal lovers about tour hygiene on the road, and covers both pre-show and post-show etiquette. The book also features Wylde's tales from the record business, a look at his recording studio, and world tour survival techniques.
Wylde was announced by Spooky Empire this week, capping off a star-studded celebrity lineup that includes co-headliner Norman Reedus from AMC's The Walking Dead. In addition, the event will feature C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders), a The Warriors cast reunion, Zach Galligan from Gremlins, Naomi Grossman (Pepper) from American Horror Story, Child's Play's Alex Vincent, and many more.
Convention agent Thom Hazaert of Los Angeles/Orlando-based Tillery-Hazaert Collective brought the idea of conventions to Zakk's camp, and was almost immediately inundated with offers.
Orlando-based Spooky Empire puts on several massively attended horror and pop-culture related fan events every year throughout Southern Florida.
