PINK FLOYD Lighting Designer's Tribute To Dark Side Of The Moon; Video

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of PINK FLOYD's iconic Dark Side Of The Moon, animator Cliff Port's 12-minute animated film debuted at the Glastonbury Festival last weekend, and is based on the tribulations of the band's lighting director at a 1973 show. Using new animation and an actual recording of Pink Floyd lighting designer Arthur Max, it shows him grappling with the technical challenge of working with a brand-new follow-spot crew.

Pink Floyd were performing at Detroit's Olympia Stadium in June 1973, and the venue policy was to use only in-house staff who were more used to covering ice hockey events. The animated version of Arthur Max has to lick his ad hoc team into shape on the hoof, accompanied by a live rendition of 'Obscured by Clouds'.
