"Thank you to everyone who supported the benefit show at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer last week," says legendary Canadian rock trio RUSH. "As well as a special thanks to our partners for this concert – Live Nation Canada, Ticketmaster, and the Enmax Centrium venue who generously donated time, goods and services so that we could raise the most amount of money possible for this worthy cause."

"We are happy to announce the final amount is $575,000 and it will all be donated for Alberta Flood Relief!"

“It is important to be a good neighbour in situations like these, and we are very grateful that we were able to amass such a huge sum that will undoubtedly help many of our fellow Canadians in need. Thanks to our partners who joined us in the effort, to all the great fans from all over Alberta who attended the show, the workers who donated their time along with us, and those fans abroad that supported via the special Flood T-shirt.” – Geddy Lee

The proceeds from the July 24th concert will see $125,000 specifically go to the citizens of High River who were hit the hardest in the floods, $400,000 going to the Canadian Red Cross to support Alberta Flood Relief, and the remaining $50,000 to local charities.

The Alberta floods affected the largest geographic area of any natural disaster the Canadian Red Cross has responded to in the country. In response to the flooding, the Red Cross has to date distributed more than 945,000 relief items like clean-up kits, hygiene supplies, potable water, safety gear, cots and blankets to those affected, and has managed or supported 16 shelters for those displaced by the floods. As communities begin to recover, the Red Cross continues to help families clean up from the disaster, with outreach teams going door-to-door in impacted communities to assess needs and offer support and assistance. The Red Cross is assisting individuals by addressing urgent unmet needs with such assistance as food, clothing, medical equipment, childcare assistance and occupational items to help people return to work. The Red Cross will continue to support communities to address unique needs through community grants.
