According to SFGate, JOURNEY guitarist and co-founder Neal Schon will wed Real Housewives of D.C. star Michaele Salahi in a star-studded wedding spectacular on Dec. 15 in San Francisco that will include rock singer Sammy Hagar among the groomsmen. The event is believed to be a series of firsts — the first wedding allowed at the Palace of Fine Arts, the first-ever celebrity pay-per-view wedding, and the first pay-per-view wedding to double as a concert and fundraiser for typhoon relief efforts in the Philippines.

“Neal and Michaele: The Winter Wonderland Wedding and Music Event,” a three-hour event scheduled to air at 5 p.m. Pacific on Sunday for $14.95 on Pay Per View, will feature three celebrity carpet walk-ups, the ceremony, a reception with a jazz band, a choir, an orchestra, performances by Journey and Tower of Power, and a surprise guest. More than half the program, designed as family fare for the holidays, will feature music, an executive producer said.

The couple said they had received various offers from TV networks to broadcast the wedding or film a reality show based on their new life together. Instead of handing the reins to someone else, they decided to try a pay-per-view event to retain control over what is presented to viewers.

“It’s an honor to be approached, that people want to hear about your life and want to be a part of it,” Salahi said in a phone interview from New York, where she and Schon were traveling this week. “And then it came to Neal: This will be unedited, the beauty of the day. You can see it live.”

Said Schon, “If anyone is going to film it and see it, I want it to be really real. We have nothing to hide, and a lot of beauty to show.”
