According to Theguardian.com, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been cleared in a New Zealand court of lying about a cannabis conviction when applying for a private pilot’s licence.

There was not enough evidence to convict the Melbourne-born musician, Judge Louis Bidois said in Tauranga district court on Tuesday.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) accused Rudd, 59, of falsely filling out the medical questionnaire for his licence by failing to mention his previous drug use.

That charge was dismissed but Rudd admitted a charge of failing to maintain a logbook and was fined $NZ750 ($710), the SunLive website reports.

Rudd previously had a helicopter pilot’s licence but let it lapse while he had a family. “You can have kids or a helicopter – you know how it goes,” he told the court.

Andy Preston at The Gater 98.7's in Palm Beach, FL got a call from AC/DC’s Brian Johnson on February 14th, who is in town for the Palm Beach Grand Prix that's happening this weekend at Palm Beach International Raceway. Johnson shared some racing stories with Preston on air. He also ventured briefly into the music territory (around the six minute mark below).

Andy asked Brian if there is anything planned for him and the band in 2014, and he said "You'll be the first one to know really....I think we’ll be going into the studio in May in Vancouver."

Johnson also added that since the band has been around for 40 years, he thinks they "are going to try to do 40 gigs to thank the fans for their undying loyalty!" He said it's been four years since AC/DC toured and he’s really looking forward to it:
