STRYPER Frontman Michael Sweet - "I Don't Like The Term 'Christian' Band; I Believe It Works Against Us"
June 28, 2014, 10 years ago
Stryper frontman Michael Sweet has checked in with the following:
For the record: I believe EVERY word I say, every prayer, every lyric and every interview that I give. I wouldn't say it if I didn't and I hope that my book has proven that. Those of you who have met me in person, hopefully you all agree.
What is my point? I'm proud to be called 'Christian' and I'm proud of what God has done with this band. Although I'm a sinner and fail and fall daily, I still believe in the responsibility of this band to carry the torch and spread the gospel through this gift that God has bestowed upon us. I believe every word and I am blessed to know that those words have steered all of you in a brighter direction.
I close with this, don't read something that one person says or posts and think that it's gospel and represents me or this band. Most often enough it does not. If you want my take on it, come directly to me :-)
God Bless you guys!"
Stryper recently issued the following update:
"Important note: Stryper will not be touring at all in 2015. We're letting this be known so our fans can plan accordingly and hopefully come out and see us this year. So if you're in the area come on out and get ready to rock! Thanks for all of your continued prayers and support and we hope to see you out on the road!"The band's schedule is currently as follows:
July
31 - Whiskey A Go Go - Hollywood, CAAugust
1 - Casselmans Bar & Venue - Denver, CO2 - Trails End Concert Park - Sheridan, WY
