AEROSMITH Cancel Friday's Lansing Date

Lansing State Journal (www.lsj.com) has issued the following report from Robin Swartz:
Dream on, AEROSMITH fans.
The rock act has canceled Friday’s (March 17th) concert with CHEAP TRICK at MSU’s Breslin Center because of illness.
It’s one of several shows the group canceled this month, including dates in Pensacola, Fla.; Lexington, Ky.; Manchester, N.H.; Hershey, Pa.; and Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
“We’re hoping Steven (Tyler) comes around with his voice issue,” Breslin director Scott Breckner said Wednesday, referring to the group’s lead singer. The Breslin show had sold more than 8,000 tickets, Breckner said. It “was going to make money for everybody involved, including the band,” he said. “It’s really unfortunate; we had fans coming from all over the state for this show.”
The concert likely will not be rescheduled, Breckner said. “It’s management by crisis right now,” he added. “Cancellations are usually about three times the work when you get them this late in the game.”
Still, news of the Breslin cancellation came earlier than it did for the folks in Lexington, who found out about two hours before their show was to being. “Cheap Trick was already there warming up,” Breckner said.
For ticket holders who don’t hear about Friday’s no-show, Breckner said Breslin Center staff will deliver the bad news.
The Aerosmith news follows an announcement that the Champions on Ice tour slated for Breslin in May also was canceled.
