Swedish rockers THE POODLES (AFM Records), who recently toured with HAMMERFALL and KROKUS, have issued the following update:

On April 25th, The Poodles will release their new single 'Seven Seas' in Sweden - a true pirate story where Peter Stormare plays a big part.

"I'm Jakob Samuel, lead singer in The Poodles. Peter is Blackbeard, the pirate with a burning fuze under the hat who was decapitated. The head was hung up on the stear of the ship, the body thrown in the sea, swimming eight laps around the ship before disappearing."

'Seven Seas' is the first single from the new album The Sweet Trade. It's, as the debut album Metal Will Stand Tall, produced by Matti Alfonzetti and Johan Lyander. The song 'Seven Seas' is made by Jakob Samuel, Jonas Reingold and Peter Stormare.

"At the beginning the song was nice and neat but felt harmless. Jonas and I wanted it meaner with more substance, it needed Peter's power and deep black song."

Peter Stormare - the actor in Prison Break, Fargo and Jurassic Park - recorded the song in StormVox Studio in West Hollywood. That's where he usually records with his band BFF (BLOND FROM FARGO) along with musicians from SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and GUNS N' ROSES.

"When we put everything together and mastered in Stockholm the story suddenly became true", Jakob says.

Since the night of the Swedish Song Contest, March 4th, 2006 in Karlskrona, Sweden, The Poodles have published their debut album, sold platinum of the single 'One Night Of Passion' and gold of the singles 'Metal Will Stand Tall' and 'Song for You' (where the profit went to BRIS, Children's Rights In Society). Last year the band played over 100 concerts in Sweden and this spring they went on tour in Europe with Hammerfall and Krokus, playing 31 shows in 18 countries in only 35 days.

Now the canons are loaded for next journey, the sails hoisted under the dawn sky and Stormare is on board for the first distance. On September 25th the album The Sweet Trade is released in Sweden as well as in 30 European countries, Russia and Japan.
