MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine has posted the following message at the Megadeth Forums:

"Droogies!

We just got back recently from the HEAVEN AND HELL tour and are celebrating our new release United Abominations. It will be just over a week until we fly overseas to celebrate with you in Europe and the UK.

I can't tell you how excited we are with the new record and your reaction to it. We are seeing tremendous interest around the world and can't wait to play the new songs for you.

Just so you know, we are looking to visit Euro/UK for the next month, ending in Tel Aviv; go out for a brief tour in the states the month of September or so; go internationally touring again the month of November; and maybe some special shows in December. This is all subject to change - so don't hold me to it.

Gigantour will not be happening until 2008 due to time constraints, and we will let you know upon further information and scheduling permits.

Thanks again to BLACK SABBATH and MACHINE HEAD and DOWN for the last couple of months touring time together. Best wishes to Heaven and Hell overseas, too.

Lastly, I really enjoyed meeting everyone on the last tour; especially the time in the interviews (because those usually sucked in the past)."

In other news, United Abominations, has entered the Italian chart at #24 and the Norweigian chart at #21.

As previously reported, United Abominations has debuted at number 23 on the UK’s top album chart, making it Megadeth’s most chart successful album in the UK since 1994’s Youthanasia, which peaked at number 6. This beats Megadeth’s last album, The System Has Failed, which debuted at number 60.

United Abominations is on track to selling 60,000 in America this week, which will potentially land it in the Top 10 on the Billboard Albums Chart, maybe even the Top 5, according to Hits Daily Double. This is an improvement on 2004’s The System Has Failed which sold 46,000 in its first week, and debuted at number 18 on the Billboard Chart.
