July 23, 2007, 17 years ago
JUDAS PRIEST have issued the following update:
"There are many unofficial books about Judas Priest coming onto the market - some already out there - people making out that their's is the 'Official' book on the Band etc...Please note that none of these books have been approved by the band - the band have not been involved in them at all so they are not official!!
We will be doing an official book sometime in the not too distant future and when we do we will announce it so until then just know that these others are not the real thing!!"
Prior to this, the band issued the following in regards to their upcoming new album: "All is going really well with the new album - Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing are working on their guitar parts - all of the guys are going to take a short summer break then will re-group to get back to working on the album!"
Judas Priest are working on their upcoming concept album about the life and predictions of 16th-century French prophet Nostradamus. Downing told BW&BK; recently that the album will contain "18 songs clocking in at over and hour and a half."
About the release date, frontman Rob Halford told BW&BK;: “I think the reality would be sometime next year... Just looking at what there’s left to do because of the scope of it. It’s not just ten to twelve different songs. It all has to be really really thought out properly and you can’t afford to let anything escape you because once it’s done and released – you can’t go back. It’s that ‘it’ll be ready when it’s ready’ vibe you know. We’re in that comfortable world now whereas years ago we were on strict time schedules where we had to get a record out at a specific time and we had to tour at a specific time. Now, we’re in a different place and it’ll take as long as it takes basically.”
