As previously reported, the ADELAIDE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA will be performing DEEP PURPLE music on Friday, March 28, 2008 and Saturday, March 29, 2008. at the Festival Theatre in Adelaide, Australia.

The orchestra's website has issued the following update: "After countless requests, the ASO has accepted the challenge and will perform the music of one of the definitive rock bands of the 70’s – Deep Purple. Featuring the dynamic vocals and on stage charisma of one of Adelaide’s most loved rock voices in Vince Contarino (ZEP BOYS) and some of Australia’s finest musicians the ASO will perform Deep Purple’s exciting brand of non-conformist rock music with the full power of the orchestra. Don’t miss this concert featuring all of Deep Purple’s hits including 'Smoke On The Water', 'Highway Star', 'Child In Time', 'Black Night' and more."

According to Deep Purple fan-site Deep-Purple.net, in an interview with the ASO's director in a local Adelaide magazine, is that Concerto For Group and Orchestra is going to be played as well as a selection of Purple tunes.

Both shows start at 8.00pm and finish approx. at 10.00pm. Single tickets on sale December 1st.
