Metal Blade Records has just added infamous Southern sludge grind-metallers SOILENT GREEN to its roster. Touted as “one of the ten most important hard and heavy bands" by Rolling Stone Magazine, Soilent Green has been releasing consistently brutal and groove-laden albums since their first full length Pussysoul in 1994. Soilent Green are true road warriors and have played a countless number of shows and toured with bands like PANTERA, CLUTCH, MORBID ANGEL, EYEHATEGOD, BRUTAL TRUTH, ANAL CUNT, NAPALM DEATH, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, GWAR, and ISIS just to name a few. The band will begin recording their fifth full length album, and Metal Blade debut, on October 15th at Mana Studios in Tampa Florida with Producer/Engineer Erik Rutan (CANNIBAL CORPSE, HATE ETERNAL, GOATWHORE, VITAL REMAINS). Expect the new album to be out in 2008 with heavy touring to follow.

"It is very exciting to have a band of Soilent Green's caliber signed to Metal Blade Records. We look forward to working closely with the band to enhance their trademark sound while forging a new chapter in the bands career." Mike Faley, President of Metal Blade Records.

“To put it bluntly, I am proud and excited about our new relationship with Metal Blade. We are for sure a band that has had our ups and downs and are looking forward to a new chapter with this release. We have put a lot of work into the new material and hope that you will enjoy.” Brian Patton (Guitars)

“Check it out! It's very exciting to get the chance to join the ranks of many artists I've admired for so long. I also greatly admire Soilent Green's persistence and determination on bringing the world more sick and interesting sounds, but most of all I personally feel at home by playing my part to make it happen.” Scott Crochet (Bass)

“I grew up listening to many of the bands that made their start with Metal Blade Records. I am honored to be on such a legendary label and with the combined efforts of Soilent Green and Metal Blade Records the possibilities of this next Soilent Green release are endless.” Tommy Buckley (Drums)
