Ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares is back with his new band DIVINE HERESY, currently out on the road with CHIMAIRA, KATAKLYSM and TERROR.

Cazares, along with drummer Tim Yeung (ex-VITAL REMAINS, HATE ETERNAL) and bassist Joe Payne (ex-NILE), recently took time out from their busy schedules to sit down with MetalSucks to discuss the tour, the formation of the band, life on the road, and starting from scratch while trying to overcome the shadows of the members' past bands.

Excerpts from the chat follow:

MetalSucks: This album is really different from anything you’ve guys have done before. It’s still a metal album, and like Tim said, there’s those classic Dino riffs, but it doesn’t sound like Fear Factory or Vital Remains or whatever…

Dino Cazares: "Y’know, even though me and Tim come from big level bands or whatever, we’re not coming out with an egotistical attitude that we need a bus right away, we need to be headliners right away, and so on and so on. We’re coming out as a young, fresh band, and we’re starting from the bottom, and we’re working, we’re working hard. I do merch every night, we drive every night, we load in and load out - we do it. Y’know, if you’re in this music business and you love it, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a bus or a van, because you know what? You love it in your heart, it’s what you what you wanna do. Y’know, a lot of people come up to me and go 'How does it feel, dude you were in a bus, and you had the biggest band that played for five thousand people every night, all of a sudden you’re playing in front of a few hundred people every night and you’re in a van?' I go, 'Dude, it’s all the same shit.' ”
