Producer/Sound Engineer Kevin Shirley On New LED ZEPPELIN Releases - "I Was Disillusioned That My Credits Were Omitted On The Artwork For Both The Song Remains The Same And On Mothership"

Producer/sound engineer Kevin Shirley (IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH) has issued the following update:
"Had loads of LED ZEPPELIN related emails, most of it very complimentary, but one vitriolic and insulting, maintaining my inflated ego is rampant and being quite threatening because of some of the edits. Of course, one always gets negative and positive reactions, especially if it's succesful product, and I guess the feedback is something one gets instantly these days, with e-mail access. I was a bit disillusioned on buying my copies that my credits were omitted on the artwork for both the Song Remains The Same DVD package and the DVD on Mothership, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Seems like assembling the music for months, dealing with labels, studios, artist and then molding the music might legitimize a credit, as much say as a researcher or mastering guy who spends a single day on it, but thems the knocks. Robert (Plant) had the class to text me and apologize, saying he was mortified, but seems some are angry at me for even mentioning it at all. Wha'evah! I remain incredibly proud of my work - I'm just a regular guy and that's what we do the job for. I am disappointed tho' and can't even bring myself to go the show in London next month anymore."
