Eagle Rock, Universal Music Canada Announce Exclusive Distribution Agreement

Universal Music Canada (UMC), the country’s leading Music Company and Eagle Rock Entertainment today announced they have entered into an exclusive distribution agreement effective February 1, 2008. The deal was announced today by Randy Lennox, President & CEO, Universal Music Canada and Eagle Rock Entertainment’s Executive Chairman, Terry Shand and North American President of Operations, Mike Carden.

As part of the new deal, Vivendi Visual Entertainment Canada (VVEC), the video arm of UMC will exclusively distribute Eagle Rock’s non-music visual content.

“Eagle Rock is a diverse company built on a love for music,” commented Randy Lennox. “We’re delighted to be working closely with Terry, Mike, Geoff Kempin and David MacMillan to further develop the Eagle Rock brand in Canada and ecstatic that they now call Universal Music their Canadian home.”

Eagle Rock Entertainment was founded in 1997 and in the past decade has grown into a worldwide music and entertainment business by acquiring and creating rights to recorded music, videos, television and other visual programming from a wide range of notable and high profile artists.

“Universal Music is the Canadian market leader through vision and passion and we’re very excited to be aligning ourselves with Randy and his team,” stated Terry Shand. “We look forward to expanding Eagle Rock in a market that has always been a vibrant one for us.”

Eagle Rock Entertainment was previously distributed in Canada by EMI Music Canada.
