Special report by BW&BK;'s David Perri

After DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's raucous set ended at Montréal's Le National on December 21st, the band's fans wanted more. It didn't matter that the house lights had been turned on. It didn't matter that music was playing through the PA. Dillinger's fans wanted another song, and they weren't going to leave the venue until the band obliged.

After several minutes of loud "Dillinger! Dillinger! Dillinger!" chanting, the crowd got what it craved as Ben Weinman, Greg Puciato, Liam Wilson, Gil Sharone and Jeff Tuttle had the venue turn off the house lights and PA. The band came back on stage and vocalist Greg Puciato announced to the crowd that Dillinger Escape Plan was about to play a cover it had never performed live. The New Jersey group then dove head-first into a faithful rendition of VAN HALEN's classic 'Hot For Teacher', much to the excitement of Dillinger's Montréal fans.

Dillinger Escape Plan's new album, Ire Works, is out now through Relapse Records.
