SON OF SAM's Todd Youth recently answered the following questions, given the band's recent signing to Horror High after a lengthy period of inactivity.

1. How come after seven years you have decided to put Son Of Sam back together?

"Steve Zing and I had so much fun playing together during the last DANZIG tour,we felt the time was finally right for SOS II."

2. Todd, you have been playing in bands for 20 (?) odd years. How have you seen the music climate change. Why is now a good time for Son Of Sam?

"Trends come and go, but there's always going to be people, young and old, that search out the real stuff and that's the people we hope to reach. Obviously with the internet it became so global, instead of when I was young and we'd put out a 7" and hope to be able to play outside of the tri-state area."

3. How have you changed through the years – your mindset from being 12 years old to now?

"I haven't changed my mindset too much. I'm still a huge music fan. I still geek out on bands that I love. I'd like to think I'm a better muscian and songwriter now."

4. You have two demos on your MySpace page that are quite different from one another. What will the CD sound like it – is it going to be more gothic or punk or what?

"I really don't like the gothic tag. I prefer to use deathrock. Son Of Sam is very influenced by the darker bands of the late '70s early '80s, such as THE DAMNED, SIOUXSE, early TSOL, and of course... SAMHAIN."

5. Can you tell us anything about the singer of the band?

"All's I can say, next to G.D., he's the best singer I've ever worked with, and he's quite handsome as well!"

6. Are you going to tour with this band?

"Yes! That was one of the things that bummed me out about the first SOS album, because of everyone involved's schedules we couldn't tour. This time around we're going to play everywhere and anywhere we can."

7. The big question that I am sure you get asked all the time, why is Davey not involved in this project?

"We spoke with Davey when we first started talking about doing the new record, and with AFI and Blaq Audio, and with us wanting to tour, he just didn't think he could commit to the level that we want to take SOS to. So he gave us his blessing to find a new singer."

8. Will there be any special release for this – like any 7" records or anything limited?

"I know we'll be doing a limited run of vinyl and we've been talking about a 7" as well"

9. Rumor is there are some special guests on this record and that Mario from ZOMBEAST helped with one of the songs?

"As far as special guests go, you'll have to wait and see, but yes Mario from Zombeast helped co-write the lyrics to a song and it came out great. Out of all the newer bands doing this kind of music they're one of my favorites."
