THE NEW BLACK, featuring Christof Leim (SINNER / ex-TRACEELORDS), have issued the following update:

"Blackies and Blackettes,

We feel some love! This time not only from you, but from the world out there as well! We were voted 'Unsigned Band of the Month' by the mighty Metal Hammer from Germany! Hell yeah!

Here's what they have to say about our album:

THE NEW BLACK – Why I Burn

'Whoever said that bands cannot form there own sound anymore these days, should listen to this – and then shut up! The New Black, featuring musicians from Sinner, Paradox and Abandoned, mix up Thin Lizzy, Metallica, Black Label Society, Pantera, Volbeat and lots of Groove and create their own music, which is so cool and unique, that your sunglasses will jump in your face by themselves. Musical director is guitarist Fabian "Fabs" Schwarz, who seems to have a very good ear for hooklines, while he and guitarist Christof Leim are also capable of lead work comparable to Zakk Wylde. This all gets even refined by frontman Fludid: His voice is reminiscent of a more melodic version of Phil Anselmo, sometimes even Mike Patton (in a 'sane' state of mind). Songs like 'Everlasting', 'More Than A Man' or 'Simplify' could be hits, they stick to your brain after two runs only without sounding pushy or cheesy. To make a long story short: if you want to ride your Corvette into the sunset, you need this album!' (Marc Halupczok)

Wow! Doesn't sound bad, huh? We feel honoured! The accompanying interview, by the way, tells about the formation of the band. Here's the short version: Fabs and Leimsen at a Caipirinha booth late at night… you do the math!

OK now, labels and club promoters, hit us up at TNB@thenewblackoffical.de. We bring the shake!"
