Guest List Magazine recently caught up with NEUROSONIC frontman Jason Darr. The following is an excerpt from the interview

Q: You've spent time on the Family Values Tour, Snocore Tour, Unwritten Law, etc… Which tour do you feel has been the most beneficial for you thus far and how so?

Darr: "Well, with a band that makes such an impact live, I think the more people you play for is the most important factor, but there's also something to be said for how attentive and how appropriate the audience is. We've toured with lots of great bands and played for lots of people, but it's hard to determine what was great just by looking at the bill. The PUDDLE OF MUDD tour was amazing because we played for a lot of attentive people who seemed to get what we do, rather than the tour we did with UNWRITTEN LAW, since most of the time we were on just after doors (and in most cases, an hour before doors were advertised), but it's really important to learn as you go and that is something we always try hard to do."

Q: What do you learn from watching bands like those mentioned in the previous question, that you have been able to incorporate into your own live show to make it stronger?

Darr: "Well, watching bands like FLYLEAF shows us there is room to step it up. Bands like that are so amazing and you don't realize it until you see it. I also learn what not to do, and how NOT to act. We learned that from KITTIE... oh Canada..."

Q: What piece of advice can you offer to someone that is looking to break into the music industry?

Darr: "The hardest thing in the world is to truly find people who love and believe in what you do. The industry is filled with phoneys who love you when the hype is there but leave you when its gone. If you can get around those types, you will get your shot. Nobody can ask for more than that."
