June 17, 2015, 9 years ago
In a new video interview, Ace Frehley chats to Planet Rock’s Paul Anthony about his upcoming covers album, as well as his immediate future:
Talking future plans, Frehley reveals: “I’m working on a new covers and remix record for eOne Music, and in Europe it’s SPV. After that… I’ve already started working on a new studio record. Between those two things, I’m touring, I’m doing a cruise after the New Year - to the Bahamas I think - Classic Rock Cruise, so that’s gonna be a lot of fun. It’s a first for me.”
About the upcoming covers album, Ace says: “I’m trying to pick songs that kind of influenced me through my career, you know, groups and certain songs. I’m doing another Stones song… I’m not a stranger to re-doing Stones songs. I was working on an Animals song, maybe a Hendrix song. I think I’m gonna be doing “Parasite” and “Cold Gin” - songs that I wrote that I didn’t sing on the original KISS records - that’ll be a treat too for the fans.”
Frehley, will issue his new album of covers later this year. SPV/Steamhammer has the release penciled in for an “Autumn 2015” release. Complete details are expected to be announced soon.
Ace Frehley performed in Sydney, Australia on April 30th. Fan-filmed video of the entire show can be viewed below:
