All Is By My Side - the biopic about guitar legend JIMI HENDRIX starring André Benjamin (aka Andre 3000 of OUTKAST) - will see its world premier at the
Toronto International Film Festival on August 20th. Check out the first photo of Benjamin playing Hendrix below:
Written and directed by John Ridley, the film also stars Imogen Poots, Hayley Atwell, Ruth Negga and Adrian Lester.
The 116 minute film is described as follows: Jimmy James (André Benjamin), an unknown backup guitarist, left New York City for London, England in 1966. A year later he returned - as Jimi Hendrix. All Is By My Side brings authenticity and poignancy to the story of the man behind the legend, and of the people who loved and inspired him.
The the film never obtained the rights to use Hendrix' music.
