Anthrax bassist Frank Bello is featured in a new interview with Sweden's Rock Sverige discussing the band's new album, For All Kings, the state of the music business, and the band's longevity.
According to Billboard, Anthrax has claimed its second US top 10 album, as For All Kings opened at No. 9 (34,000 units; nearly all in pure album sales). The act was last in the top 10 back in 1993 with Sound Of White Noise, which debuted and peaked at No. 7 on the June 12, 1993-dated list. For All Kings also logs Anthrax its largest sales week for an album since Sound Of White Noise’s second week on sale (40,000; it debuted with 62,000).
The album also topped the Hard Rock Albums chart in both the US and Canada with its #1 debuts, and landed at #5 and #7 respectively on the US and Canada's Top Current Albums charts. Additionally, For All Kings debuted at #2 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart, #2 on the Independent Albums chart, #4 Physical Albums, and #5 Vinyl Albums chart.
"We share this Top 10 victory with all of our fans," said the band's Charlie Benante. "Heavy metal is alive and well."
For All Kings is the band’s first studio album since 2011’s Worship Music (No. 12 peak with 28,000 sold in its first week) and follows the 2013 covers set Anthems (No. 52; 8,000 sold in its debut frame).
The video for "Blood Eagle Wings”, the epic eight-minute track from Anthrax's just-released album For All Kings, made it’s world premiere last week.
