ANTHRAX Guitarist SCOTT IAN Talks Debate Over KISS Reuniting Original Line-Up - "GENE SIMMONS And PAUL STANLEY Know What's Right For Their Band; They've Proven It"

In a recent interview with Florida's 99 Rock radio station, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian tackled the question of whether the four original members of  KISS - Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss - should reunite once again. He offered the following:

Scott: "As a fan, I would love to see Ace Frehley play one more time in KISS. And I'm gonna be completely honest, and this is no knock on Peter, but the last time I saw them with Peter, on the KISS / Aerosmith run, like thirteen years ago or something, whenever that was, the tempos were terrible; everything was just way too slow. So if that's the case, no, I don't wanna see that; I wanna see stuff played at the right tempo. If Peter could play it at the right tempo, then more power to him, and I would love to see that; of course I would. But, you know, it's not my band. It's Gene and Paul's band, and those guys know what's right for their band; they've proven it. Stop questioning Gene and Paul."

On October 1st at the Louder Than Life festival in Lousville, Kentucky, Scott Ian got to live out a dream when he joined Cheap Trick on stage to perform their song "Auf Wiedersehen". Fan-filmed footage can be seen below.

Anthrax recorded a cover of Cheap Trick's "Auf Wiedersehen" in 1992 during the sessions for the Sound Of White Noise album; it appeared on the four-track bonus CD included in the Japanese edition, and again in 2001 on the remastered version. They also covered Cheap Trick's "Big Eyes" on the Anthems EP, which was released in 2013.
