Long-running Spanish death metal act AVULSED recently performed two rare shows in Turkey this past December.

During the band's visit, Istanbul-based Rock Vault spoke with singer Dave Rotten about a number of topics. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

Rock Vault: What do you think about your performance, Turkish audiences, venue?

Rotten: "Thanx, I’m glad you enjoyed the show. Both in Ankara and Istanbul were cool shows!! We enjoyed both, but perhaps the one in Istanbul was more crazy!!"

Rock Vault: How would you describe the sound of next album compared to Nullo (The Pleasure Of Self-Mutilation)?

Rotten: "On Nullo we wanted to add some thrashy feel in many of the songs, just to do something fresh and different than the other albums, while still retaining our typical sound, of course, but on this one we’re trying to get some riffings we haven’t been using for many years and we want to do a more purely death metal album here. Will be 100% Avulsed, 100% death metal."

Rock Vault: What are your expectations for your next release?

Rotten: "Our expectations are to wake up our fans and any death metal lover in general. We won’t get famous, haha, but our aim is to keep playing this music we love and being able to play in more and more new places, like we did in Turkey for example!!"

Avulsed debuted the new song called 'Cult Of The Living Dead' in Ankara. Check it out below:
